First Steps on Circuit: Racing Women Discovery Day at Blyton Park
12 September 2026 | Blyton Park Driving Centre, Lincolnshire
On Saturday, 12 September, Racing Women welcomed another group of aspiring drivers to Blyton Park for a Discovery Day dedicated to building confidence, developing driving skills and exploring opportunities in motorsport.
With sunshine, warm weather and a circuit well suited to first-time drivers, the day provided an ideal setting for participants to get behind the wheel and experience circuit driving with professional support.
Getting Behind the Wheel
The Discovery Day was designed to make that first step into motorsport accessible and enjoyable, with no previous racing experience required.
Throughout the morning, participants took part in three 15-minute on-track sessions in Racing Women cars, supported by professional one-to-one in-car coaching.
Alongside practical driving, the programme included race theory, performance analysis and individual feedback, giving each driver the opportunity to work on their technique, ask questions and develop at their own pace.
Blyton Park's anti-clockwise layout, wide tarmac run-off areas and relatively forgiving circuit environment made it a great venue for drivers building their confidence on track.
Exploring the Next Steps in Motorsport
This Discovery Day also provided an opportunity for women considering the Racing Women Discovery Talent Programme to meet the team, speak with instructors and learn more about the development opportunities available.
Beyond the driving sessions, participants had time to discuss their ambitions, ask questions and explore what progressing further in motorsport could look like.
We were particularly pleased to see several participants leave the experience inspired to take the next step and join the Discovery Talent Programme.
For some, the day was their first experience behind the wheel on a circuit. For others, it was an opportunity to develop existing skills and consider their next challenge.
